Köln CC are the CHAMPIONS OF NRW BUNDESLIGA 2022

Köln CC played their last league game against Blackcaps Düsseldorf which was a virtual final for the championship and won the game by 69 runs to win the championship after a long wait of 7 years since 2015.

Köln CC, opting to bat first found themselves in some trouble after losing 2 wickets inside 5 overs. But a partnership of 80 runs between Sandheep and Dhruv steadied the innings and then useful contributions from middle and lower order helped Köln CC reach 257 at the end of 50 overs. Sandheep top scored with 51 runs for Köln CC.

In reply Blackcaps never got going as they lost 2 early wickets and struggled to push the run rate. Sandheep put on a masterclass of spin bowling in the middle overs as batters struggled to cope with the extravagant spin and bounce that he got. He finished his spell with 4 wickets and was well supported by Sharif who also ended the innings with 4 wickets to his name. At the end Blackcaps were all out for 189 runs and Köln CC were crowned champions of NRW Bundesliga 2022.

We will now be participating in the European Cricket Network starting from next week followed by the Quarterfinal for the German Bundesliga Championship in the first week of September.
