The Kings played their second match of the double header on 25th July against the Köln Challengers. After the first leg, the Challengers hoped to live up to their name, looking for revenge against the Kings. They won the toss and chose to bat first, hoping to score a lot of runs and put some pressure on the Kings' batsmen. However, their plan could not be executed due to another fine spell of fast bowling from Prateek and Appu. As usual, Prateek was unplayable while Appu was the wicket taker, picking up both the openers early. Spin duo Sandheep and Tejas then went to work on the middle order, picking wickets at regular intervals and not giving any runs away. Both bowlers picked up two wickets each. Some good fielding by both Ameya and Sandheep resulted in two run outs, ending the Challengers' innings at 66.
The Kings' batsmen made a minor mess of what should have been an easy chase. Dhruv opened the innings with Tejas but departed shortly thereafter, top-edging while trying to hook a rising ball. Lokesh also lost his wicket cheaply, chipping to square leg. Tejas and Grinesh then went to work on the Challengers' bowling, with Tejas playing the anchor role while Grinesh attacked. After a huge six and a boundary over mid-wicket, Grinesh lost his wicket also. He was shortly followed by Tejas, leaving Sandheep and Ameya at the crease with 10 runs to spare. Both batsmen finished the job, giving the Kings a comprehensive victory, though they wouldn't be very pleased with their batting display in this game.
